Flanders Foal Auction continues to Peelbergen
After a dazzling start to the foal auction season with an average price of no less than 25,500 euro, the second Flanders Foal Auction is already nearby. On Saturday, June 29, 32 jumping foals will be auctioned at Peelbergen Equestrian Center and the collection is now online.
"We are still relishing the success of our auction at Sentower Park last Saturday. We didn't quite expect such a success," say Gerald Lenaerts and Luk Van Puymbroeck.
"It will not be easy to match those prices at Peelbergen, but the foals are no less impressive. It is a very strong group overall with fantastic models and an excellent canter. Looking at the collection, we are really excited."
Some facts in a row:
• 26 foals have a grandam who produced a 1.50m and/or 1.60m horse
• 5 foals have a dam who produced a 1.50m and/or 1.60m horse
• 4 foals have a dam who performed at 1.50m or 1.60m level
• 8 foals have a grandam who performed at 1.50m or 1.60m level
• There are 32 foals from 19 different stallions
• Leading sires are Chacco Blue and Emerald (4), followed by Cornet Obolensky and Ermitage Kalone (3) and Diamant de Semilly, Toulon and Catoki (2).
"We have offspring from the big names, but also from Grand Prix stallions such as Cartello VDL, Luigi d’Eclipse, Quickly de Kreisker and Carambole. Simply because these foals are so special and come from such good sport lines that we did not want to leave them out. There are also lesser-known families, but very good ones. Like that of Carlos vd Nachtegaal Z, a Catoki out of the 1.55m Grand Prix mare Coromena and a grandam Dimena, who jumped 1.60m Grand Prix with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum."

Flanders Foal Auction koerst verder naar Peelbergen
Na een wervelende start van het veulenveilingseizoen met een gemiddelde prijs van maar liefst 25.500 euro, is de tweede Flanders Foal Auction al nabij. Op zaterdag 29 juni worden 32 springveulens geveild op Peelbergen Equestrian Center en de collectie staat online.
“We zijn nog even aan het nagenieten van onze veiling op Sentower Park afgelopen zaterdag. Zo’n succes hadden we nou ook weer niet verwacht”, vertellen Gerald Lenaerts en Luk Van Puymbroeck.
“Het zal niet eenvoudig zijn om die prijzen te evenaren op Peelbergen, maar de veulens zijn er niet minder om. Het is in de breedte een zeer sterke groep met fantastische modellen en een zeer goede galop. Als we naar de collectie kijken worden we er echt blij van.”
Een aantal feiten op een rij:
- 26 veulens hebben een grootmoeder die een 1.50m en/of 1.60m paard gebracht
- 5 veulens hebben een moeder die een 1.50m en/of 1.60m paard gebracht
- 4 veulens komen uit een 1.50m of 1.60m Grand Prix merrie
- 8 veulens hebben een grootmoeder die 1.50m of 1.60m Grand Prix sprong
- Er zijn 32 veulens van 19 verschillende hengsten
- Aanvoerders zijn Chacco Blue en Emerald (4), gevolgd door Cornet Obolensky en Ermitage Kalone (3) en Diamant de Semilly, Toulon en Catoki (2).
“We hebben nafok van de grote namen, maar ook van Grand Prix-hengsten als Cartello VDL, Luigi d’Eclipse, Quickly de Kreisker en Carambole. Gewoonweg omdat deze veulens zo apart zijn en uit zulke goede sportlijnen komen, dat we ze niet wilden laten staan. Er zitten ook minder bekende families bij, maar wel zeer goede. Zoals die van Carlos vd Nachtegaal Z, een Catoki uit de 1.55m Grand Prix-merrie Coromena en een grootmoeder die 1.60m Grand Prix sprong, Dimena met Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum.”

The Flanders Foal Auction on Saturday, June 29, will be colorfully opened with Bounty DW Z (Balou du Rouet x Ultimo), bred out of the half-sister to Waikiki van ’t Kluizebos (1.50m GP).
A pitch-black filly with a white tail: Beyonce FDV (sired by Querlybet) is a real eye-catcher. She comes out of the half-sister of a 1.60m and 1.55m Grand Prix horse.
Cherry Jubilee van WW Z (Chacco Blue x Toulon) is a granddaughter of Spruce Meadows GP winner Candy with Pieter Devos. Dam Indiana van HD jumped 1.45m courses and already produced a 1.55m GP horse.
