What to expect when you buy an embryo from us?
- All embryos are implanted in recipient mares
- You don't need to pay rent for these recipient mares, but there is a surety to pay of 2,500 euros.
- If an Irish buyer purchases an embryo in Dublin, Flanders Foal Auction will cover the cost of transporting the pregnant recipient mare to Ireland
- After weaning the recipient mare needs to come back to the seller at buyer’s expense. Then you'll get back the surety of 2,500 euros.
What does the insurance of the still unborn foals cover?
Embryo insurance via Catherine de Buyl Horse Insurance or Q&O Horse Insurance can be arranged at the night of the auction. Contact the insurance companies or us for more details). Covered are:
- Embryo ensured against all risks of mortality due to any cause
- Death of the dam, death of the embryo
- Death during the foaling or dead born foal
Is it possible to arrange the foal delivery?
Yes, foals can be born and raised in Belgium at LVP stables or any other place of your choice
Who will be the official breeder?
- The buyer will be the breeder
- All foals can be registered in any studbook
