New names, familiar faces & plenty to celebrate

Every month, we love seeing new references being added and familiar names appearing again and again on the results lists. Horses that once sold in the Flanders Foal and Embryo Auctions are now competing and winning at shows across the world. And July was no exception.

From Kronenberg and Opglabbeek to Hickstead, Valkenswaard, Royan, Saugerties and Wilmington, horses connected to the Flanders collection delivered a string of impressive results.

One of the month’s highlights was Nibali (Casallo Z), who was on fire with Mariano Martínez Bastida. After winning the 1.40m in Kronenberg, the pair added three more victories at 1.35m level in Opglabbeek. Four starts, four wins. Kameroen EB Z (Kannan) once again showed his top-level quality with Leonie Peeters, finishing 8th in the 1.55m at Harthill-Bolesworth before going on to place 7th in the 1.60m at Hickstead.

In the USA, Indian Quality Z (I’m Special de Muze) produced two 6th-place finishes in Saugerties, at1.45m and 1.50m level, while Salina van ’t Goedleven (Dieu Merci van T&L) jumped to an impressive 2nd place at 1.40m level in Wilmington.

And the list keeps growing
Ding Dong van Overis Z (Diamant de Semilly) added a 3rd and 8th place in the 1.45m and 1.50m level, Entertainer van Overis Z (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof) finished 2nd in Valkenswaard, while Rana vd Berghoeve (Kannan) and Only One vd Fruitkorf (Andiamo) both claimed victories in Royan. Meanwhile, Cognac EB (Casall) added another international top result in Sariego.

What makes these results especially exciting is that this is not a one-off. We keep seeing the same horses return to the results lists month after month, while new references continue to emerge. That is the real reward, watching auction horses develop, compete and make their mark in the sport.
