Embryo auction at Sentower Park: Germany buys half-sister to H&M All-In

With their interesting pedigrees, unborn jumping foals are still in demand, considering that on Saturday-night 4 February they were sold in the Flanders Embryo Auction for an average price of 18,765 euro. In the pleasant lounge of Sentower Park in Opglabbeek 19 of the 23 embryos changed owners and the half-sister of multiple medal-winner H&M All-In was the star of the auction.

The Chacco Blue x Andiamo, bred out of the dam of top horse H&M All-In (rider Peder Fredricson), Happiness DK Z (1.60m GP with Angelie Von Essen) and Voila DK Z (1.45m with James Davenport), will be born in Germany in March. She – for it is already certain that it is a filly - was sold via online bidding for 38,000 euro.

The combination of a live auction with an enthusiastic public and the online bidding system proved very effective again during this Flanders Embryo Auction. “We realize that we have become a little spoiled by the embryo auctions in Italy and Abu Dhabi, but this was a very attractive auction with a good standard and good prices. There were hardly any peaks or drops and a lot of the stock got sold. Anyone paying attention could buy something really interesting for a fair price”, say Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts afterwards.

Good sales
Auctioneer Koen Olaerts and guest speakers Holger Hetzel and Henner Hoeschen from Germany provided a lot of information during the auction and the guest speakers even joined the bidding themselves. Ten embryos were sold on the spot and nine other ones online.

For 24,000 euro the Eldorado van de Zeshoek x For Pleasure, a grandchild of top-class mare Walnut de Muze, will be reared in the Netherlands. For 22,000 euro the Chacco Blue x Kannan from the damline of Fragance de Chalus was sold to Dubai.

Two embryos went for 20,000 euro. Ireland laid hands on the Chacco Blue x Goethe out of the same dam as the 1.60m Grand Prix mare Sterrehof’s Ushi. France claimed the Baloubet du Rouet x Diamant de Semilly, the full sister of the 1.60m Grand Prix horse Dubai du Cedre and bred out of the full sister to Quickly de Kreisker. Even Argentina made a purchase.

Next stop: Norway
For the next embryo auction the Flanders team will move abroad again, this time to Norway. On Saturday 25 March the auction will for the first time take place in the nearby hotel from the newly organized international Grenland Horse Show.
