Flanders Horse Event and Flanders Foal Auction working together

Flanders Foal Auction, the internationally renowned foal auction from Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts, has expanded. Apart from the embryo auction in the Emirates and the foal auctions in Bonheiden and Opglabbeek now also the international showjumping show Flanders Horse Event in Beervelde, Belgium, has been added to the Flanders Foal Auction calendar.

This top-class event, this year from Wednesday 31 July to Sunday 4 August, has been a regular item on many agenda’s. The unique aspect is the combination of sport, breeding and lifestyle with due attention to the local and international riders.

Flanders Horse Event has already featured on the equestrian map for 25 years. First as a national showjumping event, the last fifteen years as a CSI3* international showjumping show. Nowadays it annually attracts some 20,000 visitors. Breeding is a standard item on the program. Besides young horse classes, there is the standard foal auction on the Saturday-night, for which Flanders Foal Auction selected the foals for to be sold in the auction this year for the first time.

Show organiser Patrick Gansbeke is ‘extremely happy with the new co-operation’. “We are going to make this product a real beauty. A foal auction fits splendidly into our event and we have attracted a real handsome mix of clients from 24 different countries. We are only a very small team, same as Flanders Foal Auction. We know and trust each other”, he says.

Also Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts are very pleased with the new arrangement. “A fine location with a real strong public. We are going to make sure that we select some 25 showjumping foals from the best mares lines in Europe with sires that have proved themselves. Foals you can expect to become great performers in the sport.”

Breeders can offer their foals online.
