Flanders Foal Auction strikes one more time with top quality foals

After an excellent auction season with an average price of 23,000 euro per foal, Flanders Foal Auction is preparing for the last foal auction of the year. “We hope we can match the results of past foal auctions, the collection won’t be the problem”, promise Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts. Saturday evening, 16 September, is the day. Location this time is Peelbergen Equestrian Centre on Dutch soil.

“Once again, an auction to look forward to. The concept of live and online works very well for Flanders Foal Auction, the team at Peelbergen is very motivated to make it a great evening and it is yet another slightly different audience than, for example, at Sentower Park, where we always auction successfully several times a year.”

There will be 34 showjumping foals ready to be auctioned. Who is going to be the top-seller? Luk Van Puymbroeck and Gerald Lenaerts do not have the answer yet. “There are outstanding foals among them with fantastic pedigrees. Our customers and we are almost used to that. We have already been able to auction so many exceptional foals over the years and also this season. The great thing is that now more and more horses we auctioned as foals are breaking through at international level. Most impressive is O'Bailey van het Brouwershof who, at nine years old, already participated in the European Championships with Maikel van der Vleuten and showed his huge potential.”

The auction kicks off with a striking colored colt by Conthargos and is followed by multiple genetic gems. To name a few: a Comme il Faut out of the full sister of Nixon van 't Meulenhof, a Chacco Blue out of the Olympic mare Sancha LS, a full sister of the 1.70m GP stallion Halifax van 't Kluizebos, a Diamant de Semilly out of the half-sister of Olympic showjumper Dubai, a Heartbreaker out of the half-sister of Olympic champion Big Star, a full brother of the 1.60m GP stallion Million Dollar, a Chacco Blue out of the famous mare Baluka Hero, a Cornet Obolensky out of the full sister of Brooklyn Heights, a Don VHP out of the half-sister of Casall and a Conthargos with Prima Donna van 't Paradijs as grandam.

Fifteen of the 34 foals are fillies, which also makes it very interesting from a breeding point of view. Anyone looking to strengthen their breeding and/or sport stable should definitely keep an eye on this auction. It is the last Flanders Foal Auction of the year. However, the very last auction will be on 18 November on Italian soil with embryos to be born in 2024.

Flanders Foal Auction pakt nog één keer uit met topveulens

 

Na een uitstekend veilingseizoen met een gemiddelde prijs van 23.000 euro per veulen maakt Flanders Foal Auction zich op voor de laatste veulenveiling van het jaar. “We hopen dat we de resultaten van afgelopen veulenveilingen kunnen evenaren, aan de collectie zal het niet liggen”, beloven Luk Van Puymbroeck en Gerald Lenaerts. Op zaterdagavond 16 september is het zover. Locatie is dit keer Peelbergen Equestrian Centre op Nederlandse bodem.

“Opnieuw een veiling om naar uit te kijken. Het concept live en online werkt zeer goed voor Flanders Foal Auction, het team van Peelbergen is zeer gemotiveerd om er een mooie avond van te maken en het is toch ook weer iets ander publiek dan bijvoorbeeld op Sentower Park, waar we altijd meerdere keren per jaar met succes veilen.”

Er zullen 34 springveulens klaarstaan om geveild te worden. Wie de topper gaat worden? Luk Van Puymbroeck en Gerald Lenaerts hebben geen antwoord klaarliggen. “Er zitten zeer goede veulens bij met fantastische pedigrees, al went dat laatste misschien ook wel een beetje. We hebben al zoveel aparts mogen veilen. Het mooie is dat er nu steeds meer paarden die we als veulen veilden doorbreken op internationaal niveau. Meest indrukwekkend is O’Bailey van het Brouwershof die met zijn negen jaar al deelnam aan het EK met Maikel van der Vleuten en zeer beloftevolle dingen liet zien.”

De veiling gaat van start met een stoer bont veulen van Conthargos en wordt opgevolgd door genetische hoogstandjes. Om er een paar te noemen: een Comme il Faut uit de volle zus van Nixon van ’t Meulenhof, een Chacco Blue uit de olympische merrie Sancha LS, een volle zus van de 1.70m GP hengst Halifax van ’t Kluizebos, een Diamant de Semilly uit de halfzus van olympisch springpaard Dubai, een Heartbreaker uit de halfzus van olympisch kampioen Big Star, een volle broer van de 1.60m GP hengst Million Dollar, een Chacco Blue uit de bekende merrie Baluka Hero, een Cornet Obolensky uit de volle zus van Brooklyn Heights, een Don VHP uit de halfzus van Casall en een Conthargos met Prima Donna van ’t Paradijs als grootmoeder.

Vijftien van de 34 veulens zijn merrie en dat maakt het foktechnisch ook zeer interessant. Wie zijn fok- en/of sportstal wil versterken, moet deze veiling zeker in de gaten houden. Het is de laatste Flanders Foal Auction van het jaar. De afsluitende veiling is echter op 18 november op Italiaans bodem met embryo’s die in 2024 geboren worden.
